Re: Remote workflow execution fails unless I remove and re-add all inputs on remote workflow.

I discovered another workflow in my inventory with an upper case S in string.  Actually a bunch of them.  They were auto generated from the REST plugin although I couldn't tell you what version.  Maybe its embedded in the workflow somewhere.  Here is one of them.  If you look at the outputs "Number" is also capitalized which is not valid correct?  Maybe its a bug in the plugin's that are auto generating workflows.  I think when fixed things I had removed/readded parameters or done some sort of editing that must have fixed things.

VMmark.com Site Redesign

VMmark.com has been through a major redesign which launched yesterday, 7/18. We wanted to make you aware of some changes.

  • Firstly, the look and feel of the site has changed substantially. Some functionality of the VMmark 2.x Results page has changed, too. For instance, the filtering options have been expanded, and the Results table now has the ability to add and remove columns. Some columns that were present in the previous page are now hidden by default.
  • Please download VMmark files from www.vmware.com/products/vmmark.html as we are currently experiencing issues downloading VMmark files from VMmark.com. We should have a fix for this soon.
  • If you encounter bugs or usability issues with the VMmark Results page, please message me.

Thank you,

Rebecca

Re: Nested View sessions and Printing

Thanks!!

These are network printers, from multiple sites. I'll try and make a quick diagram:

(1) Horizon application or Zero Client -----> (2) Horizon Desktop (Terminal Server 2012r2) -----> (3) Horizon Published App

1: Just a pc or a zero client that is running the Horizon 7.0.1 client - these machines are dumb, and have no settings / domain join etc or ability to print.

2: This is where most people spend their day - users log into one of 5 terminal servers, where all of the printers are over the network. Another instance of the Horizon client is installed here, so that users can access externally published Horizon applications

3: The user opens the Horizon published application from within their terminal server session - printers from the terminal server session are not shared with the Horizon published app.

At the moment, Horizon is using virtual printing to share the printers from level 1 to level 3, but printers at the level 2 area are not published to level 3. I don't think that I can use location-based printing, as the application / level 3 environment doesn't have direct access to level 2 (separate networks). Testing this at the moment, but people will need to be able to print from their published apps. I believe that ThinPrint can do this (ThinPrint 10.0 Documentation), as session-in-session is explicitly covered, and I would assume that something similar would be available in Horizon, however i can't seem to find anything that works.

Thanks for your help Mike!

Hi vmxmr,

Really appreciated your work, we are trying to reproduce the issue.

Could you help to check with my step, is there any different between us?

ENV:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

Version: 10.11.5 (15F34)

step:

1. Install Fusion 8.1.1 build successfully in Host OSX10.11

2. Install OSX 10.11 as guest successfully

3. Install the VMtool successfully.

4. Enable Accelerate 3D Graphics

5. Restart Guest VM

---

6. Install 10.12  Developer Preview to upgrade

HP G6 Proliant ML360 Hyperthreading ESXI 6.0 - Question

$

  Hello,

I'm new to the vmware community and recently setup a lab with an old HP Proliant G6 ML360.  This server has a Xeon 5550 processor.  I have enabled hyper threading and virtual CPU in the BIOS.  ESXI recognizes that there are 4 physical processors and 8 logical processors.  I see Hyper threading as active yet my total available capacity is 7734 MHz.  Is there something else I am missing for this configuration.  I currently have a single Server 2012 R2 VM and have plans for more but my available resources prohibit me from continuing.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated for a newbie.

way of passing vmpath in java sample to clone a virtual machine will be as shown below-

datacenter/vmfolder/vm1

where-

datacenter is datacenter name.

vmfolder is virtual machine folder name.

vm1 is name of the virtual machine to be cloned.

Re: Installing vRealize Orchestrator Client 7.0.1

Finally resolved after re-downloading the zip file of "Orchestrator Client Installable"from the local Orchestrator server and unzipped it again (for the fifth time) in a new folder! I also updated Java to Version 8 Update 101 (build 1.8.0_101-b13) and enabled the Java console to watch interactions. Phew!

I am running NSX load-balancer 6.2.3. I only want to pass the Client IP address to my webserver, not the LB IP as well. How do I configure that?

Hi,

I have a NSX 6.2.3 load-balancer. Currently, my architecture is:

Client --> Cloud proyx --> NSX load-balancer --> my-webserver

When I webserver gets X-forwarded-for header from my NSX load-balancer, it has Client IP and Cloud proxy IP values - 2.2.2.2 (client IP), 3.3.3.3 (cloud proxy IP).

Can I create custom application policy on NSX that will only send Client IP to my-webserver and not append the Cloud proxy IP?

Thanks.

Hi there =)

I'm @mikeroySoft on twitter.

Can you tell me about your Mac? Which model is that? (the GPU will make a huge difference in performance).

View 4.6 view client certificate

I just started having this problem and cannot figure out why.  The view client upon selecting connect gives an error of: "The view connection server connection failed. A certificate is required to complete client authentication."

This only happens on a windows 10 desktop.  Windows 7 does not have any issues.

Please help

Also helpful is what OS are you running on the Host and Guest.

I am presuming you're using Fusion 8.1.1

Re: how about using storage vMotion migrate view desktop?

Since you said replica I assume these are linked clones.  You don't and can't storage vMotion linked clones, it's unsupported.  The only supported way to move them to a new datastore is using rebalance.  Disable provisioning, then go into your pool's storage settings, deselect all of the old datastores and select all of the new datastores.  This won't affect any existing linked clones until you perform a rebalance.  When you are ready to rebalance, enable provisioning and perform the rebalance on the pool in View.  Note that rebalance also refreshes at the same time.

Any luck figuring this out?  I'm experiencing the same issue.  I'm unable to mount my NFS storage when using a custom TCP stack, works as expected when using the default tcp/ip stack.

Re: HP G6 Proliant ML360 Hyperthreading ESXI 6.0 - Question

let's take it this way.

you have a Single Socket - Quad core system 3.0 GHz

without hyper threading - ESXi will show you 4 Cores - 4 Logical CPUs - 12 GHz

With Hyper Threading enabled - your system will be 4 Cores - 8 Logical CPUs - 12 GHz

in short, hyper threading gives capabilities to schedule 2 threads on a single core which increases number of LCPUs that's all.

Hi ecc1213,

Unfortunately, we are still not supporting Win10 Pro yet.

If you face a BSOD with Win10 Enterprise, then you can attach to your support ticket so we can see what is happening.

Thanks.

VirtuallMachine.Admin.Hostname doesn't correlate to the reservation policy.

Please take a look at this post to see how to set this up.

Re: Day 2 software deployments

Software deployment as part of the blueprinting is a functionality called "app authoring" and is available in Enteprise. Not sure if you're asking about that, or deploying "on demand" software as an actual Day 2 action (which doesn't exist now).
