It seems VMware is rapidly overtaking Microsoft in the race to produce the most confusing licensing requirement. Can you provide a link that says SRM will not work with vSphere essentials, because I can't find one? I don't see why I can't just buy 2 essential licenses (as they come with vCenter Server, yes?), Standard at $6k+ a pop is out of the question. What about vCenter Foundation - it seems the only difference is Foundation is limited to 3 hosts (which is fine for us), and at $2k per instance is more manageable.
