I saw some cases without any rule active NSX distributed firewall blocked some traffic. Could you please try to disable firewall and check it again?

I think I am going to have to dump this VM. Slow as syrup, tools dont work, now it is continuously forgetting its password. I have to restart the whole VM S L O W L Y every time it goes to sleep!!

Officially, VMware lists Mac models from 2011 onwards as supported for Fusion 10.x.

The 2010 Mac models are a mix of Penryn, Nehalem, and Westmere generation of Intel CPUs. The Penryn and Nehalem CPUs do not have a feature called VMX Unrestricted Guest that Fusion 10.x requires. This feature was introduced in the Westmere generation.

It is far easier to say with 100% certainty a CPU is not supported for Fusion 10.x just by identifying the 2010 Mac has a Penryn or Nehalem CPU. But the reverse is a bit tricky as it may not necessarily mean that the feature appears in all Westmere CPUs. (Maybe that's why VMware just decided to say only 2011 Mac models are supported). The i3-550 belongs to the Westmere generation (Clarkdale and 32nm lithography would mean that this is Westmere generation CPU).

I would think the iMac you have should be able to run Fusion 10.x.
The MSR 0x485 bit 5 value of 1 is to indicate with 100% certainty that the CPU that you have has the VMX Unrestricted Guest feature. So you can paste the text of the MSR 0x485 or attach a recent working vmware.log if you want me to interpret it for you.

Try the "Restore Defaults" in the Virtual Network Editor (VNE). Power down all VMs first before trying this.
Option (1) Restore defaults in VNE
If Option #1, does not work try the following
Option (2) Execute a "Network Reset" of the Windows 10 host and then "Restore Defaults" again from VNE or "Repair Installation".
Note "Network Reset" will wipe out any VPN and WiFi hotspot settings you have for the host machine.

Application Captured... what gets moved to new computer?
i just finished capturing an application and from within the bin folder, i have a .dat and a .exe file. the exe works fine. the app runs with no issues...
i now what to use the app on a different computer. Do i just move the exe file? do I need to move the entire 'capture folder' with all the %program% folders? if so where should i place it?
what is the next step in using the virtualized application on other systems.

Thank you very very much. RAID is not really important at this time. I just need something that I can offload stuff from my Mac Mini and use something that I can keep up 24/7. I did see the Dell custom image and I was going to try it as well for the same reasons. I was really just trying to see if anyone had actually done it.
I did not think to check the individual parts in terms of the HCL. I was primarily focusing on actual machines that are compatible with recent hardware and in my budget.
I really appreciate your efforts.

Proxy経由のWorkstationのネットワーク接続ができない
仕様ソフト "VMware(R) Workstation 12 Pro" of Japanese.
Host OS: Windows 7 Enterprise(J) 64bit
Guest OS: Windows 10 Enterprise(E) 64bit
ホストOSは、社内のProxy経由で接続しています。
Guest OSから、インターネットへの接続ができません。
仮想ネットワークエディタのリセットや、3つの設定（ブリッジ、NAT、ホスト）なども行いましたが接続できません。
ProxyのUser/Passを問い合わせてくるのかと思ったらそれもありません。
もちろん、ProxyのUser/Passの設定方法があるのか？あったとしても、その場所も不明です。
VMWareの自動アップデートのProxyではありません。
もし、わかる方 ヒントでもいいのであれば
教えてください。

HORIZON VIEW INQUIRIES
Licensing:
1. Do I still need to purchase a separate vSphere licenses (essentials plus kit, standard / enterprise plus acceleration kit) to setup a VDI?
Or if I buy a 100 users Horizon View Advanced license, both vCenter and ESXi hosts are already included? If yes, how many hosts will it be licensed?
If horizon is in a prod dr configuration:
1. will users in connection server PROD will be replicated to connection server DR? Given both servers are configured in the PROD connection server.
2. if active-passive scenario will occur, do you still license the the DR connection server? Like if 50 users Horizon Advanced in PROD, a separate 50 users Horizon Advanced in DR?
3. Can you use an existing vCenter Server (Standard from an existing Enterprise Plus) to connect to a new connection server / new VDI environment?
O setup a vCenter Server for Desktop using Horizon licenses?

Can anyone suggest a PCIE USB3 controller that is compatible with esxi?
I'm relatively new to esxi and this is for personal use, not any kind of production environment. Running esxi 6.5. The HCL is a bit hard to follow....is it only for chipsets instead of products?
I do not need/want passthrough, i'd like to be able to assign individual USB devices to individual guests instead of passing the entire controller through. So i'm looking for a controller that is natively supported in ESXI. Not able to find any cards that explicitly list support.

Attempted to "Restore Defaults" from the Virtual Network Editor but that did not fix it. "Network Reset" on the other hand, it removed all my network adapters and unfortunately I am no longer able to reinstall the network drivers. I tried to install the original network driver (e.g. XPS-8910_Network_Driver_TTTGW_WN32_1.0.0.32_A00.EXE) but the installation package would hang forever during the GUI install process before displaying something like "installation is taking longer than normal, do you want to continue?", either options "Yes or No" just ends the installation. Well, "Yes" ends with installation successful, but not really installing anything. "No", aborts the installation I think. I also tried to update the yellow bang network driver from Device Manager and it also fails to install the driver (I unpackaged the network driver contents into a folder), always seems to just hang on the GUI process for 10-20 minutes. Welp, thanks for the suggestions anyways. I might end up with a few broken programs but I think I'll go ahead and reinstall the OS, because I do need the VMs *sigh*.

I am seeing SSL handshake errors to one of my vServers. It will work fine for some number of days and then these
errors will kick in. Sometimes they just go away. How can I troubleshoot these handshake failures? Thank you.

I was using one of your examples I found in this forum yesterday.
I tried playing around with your script How to rebuild vROps vApp Container Data from PowerCLI
I used it to find my VMs and export all the info to a CSV
However I never got importing to work. No matter what I did I kept ending up with
"The property 'Property' cannot be found on this object. Verify that the property exists and can be set."
which refers to $spec.Property += $prop
I tried changing it from $prop = New-Object VMware.Vim.VAppPropertySpec to $prop = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec and various other things as a shot in the dark. It wasn't a very successful night.
The actual VM in question isnt an actual vApp. Rather it was an ova with details stored under vApp for deployment (similar to Loginsight etc)
