When I deployed it I logged into the console as usgmtr, used webpass to set a password and then logged into the website using admin and the password I set - maybe I was lucky 
I couldn't find a user account documented anywhere.

We had similar performance issue with vSphere client and the issue was vCenter database drive being 99% full. You might want to check the available free space in the vcenter database.

Yes... based on steps you described, you migrated only the management VMkernel interface to vSS, but you should migrate everything from vDS to vSS, since you will not able to remove a host from vCenter is this host make part of a vDS.

The issue for me was my antivirus. i was running Avast free antivirus and as soon as i uninstalled it I was able to obtain hardware information and convert the physical machine to virtual.

Is there a way to attach and remove a CD ISO in vCAC 6.0
We require the ability to attach a CD (mount an ISO) to a VM created in vCAC. What we are having to do at the moment is connect them with the use of vCenter, however this takes up time from our infrastructure team and isn't self service.
Is there a way to eaisly attach (and detatch) an ISO to a VM that has been deployed and managed by vCAC?
We are running vCAC 6.0 and vSphere 5.5 Update 1

Unable to delete ghost volume
naa.6006016003c02800dc0bc7f0b6f0e311 is a fibre channel LUN from our VNX5500 presented to our 7 vSphere 5.1U2 hosts. It is identified as LUN 0 when viewed through the vSphere Client on all 7 hosts an is an empty datastore.
When I unmount the datastore and detach the LUN, it greys out as expected. I then go the the VNX and remove that LUN from the storage pool, which in turn removes it from the hosts when a "Rescan All" is performed.
At that time naa.6006016003c02800dc0bc7f0b6f0e311 disappears however, a new LUN 0 naa.50060160bde00e5850060160bde00e58 appears and there is no size associated and there is no new datastore. If I choose "Add Storage" this "ghost" volume is not available and I can unmount it and mount it, but there is nothing there and it really is not related to any actual storage. It is just a ghost LUN in vSphere.
If I re-add the real naa.600... LUN to the storage pool, naa.500... disappears and LUN 0 reflects correctly again with naa.600... identifier. I remove it again and LUN 0 becomes naa.500... identifier again.
I want them both gone but I cannot get rid of naa.500... no matter what I try.
There is no sDRS or SIOC in play.
I restarted management agents as well as a services.sh restart and when neither of those worked I rebooted 1 host but it still didn't remove the ghost LUN.
I have done all the esxcli trickery I can find related to deleting volumes. Funny thing is when I run the commands to unmount it, set it to "off" etc, the naa.500... volume grays out in the client and the commands are successful. Then I run the actual delete command and it runs successfully within the CLI but if you watch the GUI, naa.500... that was grayed out becomes active (not grayed out) again within a couple of second after deleting from the CLI.
How whack is that?
I suspect it is something left behind from a volume that no longer exists and probably has not existed for a very long time, but that was not properly removed when it was removed.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get rid of this mysterious ghost volume?

ISCSI enabling jumbo frames
Hi Everyone,
I just want to make sure I am on the right track here.
In theory, I should be able to enable jumbo frames to 9000 on my switch and SAN without affecting the hosts. The Scenario would be:
- Shutdown all ESXi hosts
- Reconfigure SAN and switches to support jumbo frames
- Turn on ESXi hosts
Basically, I want to make sure the switches and SAN work together correctly with the change before I change anything on the hosts. ideally if all goes well with the hosts testing (vmkping -d -s 1500 x.x.x.x and powering on VMs) I would then change the MTU on the VMKernel ports and try the hosts again.
Sound good in theory?

Update for anyone stumbling on this topic through Google:
We have worked with VMware and Microsoft and Microsoft, and they have identified root cause to be within Windows 8.1. Sadly, the minimize-script invoked by CommandsToRunOnDisconnect doesn't consistently run in our case.
Until the hotfix is released, you will see this if you have the combination of:
- Windows 8.1
- IE11
- Horizon Agent using PCoIP as the display protocol
It is not seen with other browsers, RDP or if IE is minimized prior to disconnecting.

Data Recovery 2.0.4 repeats "Set vCenter Server Credentials"

I'm trying to set up VMware ESXi 4.1U1 with Data Recovery 2.0.4
After Deploying OVF and setting up IP addres and password of VDR ,
I setup VDR on vClinet "Solutions and Applications > VMware Data Recovery"
Push "Conncet" with IP address in text box , displayed "Status: Attempting to conncet..."
and "set vCenter Server Credintials" dialog open.
With password of vCenter , no error displayed but repeat opening authentication dialog.
Dose someone know how to solve?

Help with WinSCP and VMWare WS
Hi! I'm using the VMWare WS with the Junos Firefly Perimeter for practicing purposes. Could someone explain me step by step how could I configure the WinSCP to connect with the VM? I would like to save some files locally (in FTP mode) and I spent several hours trying to find out the right IP address, the port and the credentials that I will have to use to connect but without luck. I have enabled the FTP daemon in Junos but I'm certain that the problem lays in the VMWare WS network settings. Thank you!

I got a FC lun that is a bootlun from another host. I see it under devices under the hba, but when I go to add datastore, I do not see it.
any idea? The lun number is 0. should it matter?

There is NO impact only that SIOC functionality will not be available which distribute IOPS across VMs in case there is IO contention based on IOPS shares set on each VM placed on DS. . Plz let me know your vSphere VC/ESXi version. We need to check if SIOC is supported with RDM. Stay tuned for some more details.
