Move vCenter 4.x 32bit to new 64bit Server

As part of out planned upgrate to vCenter/vSphere 5,  I'm researching the detailed steps to migrate our vCenter 4.0 (SQL 2005 Std. & ADAM databases) from a 32bit Win2003 server to a new 64bit server running Win200 R2.

I'm aware of the Data Migration tool, but according to the fine print, this can only be used with SQL Express edition. Since our vCenter config uses SQL 2005 Std locally on the server, this Data migration tool is not a supported option.

The actual migration of the SQL 2005 Std DB seems straight-forward enough. I'm more confused about the procedure migrating the ADAM database to the new 64bit server.

I have also read the following KB:Migrating vCenter Server to a different host machine (KB Article: 5850444) kb.vmware.com/kb/5850444
However, I'm concerned about the statement...
''If you are migrating a vCenter Server 4.x database, you must also migrate the ADAM database. You can migrate this database if the Windows versions in the source and the destination is the same. If not, vCenter might not operate properly and/or the client might fail during connection. For more information, see Manually backing up and restoring the vCenter Server 4.x ADAM instance data (1029864).''

Can anyone kindly advise of their step-by-step experience migrating from 32bit vcenter server to a 64bit vcenter with local SQL Standard edition & ADAM database?
